I still haven't gotten around to tackling the TV problem on the computer.

But I've tried a bunch of games.

Neverwinter Nights Diamond edition - the one that came on a DVD and couldn't be returned at Best Buy - is a disappointment. I tried playing "Shadows of Undrentide". To my great annoyance, my hireling keeps trapping me! She moves next to me when I'm standing someplace, and I end up completely unable to move. It's just too annoying.

Oblivion is...not what I expected. I've played it a bit, but the beginning takes place in a dark dungeon. It's not boring, but it's not thrilling me to death, either.

So I've been playing Fable: The Lost Chapters. At first it was a bit twee, in an Englishy sort of way, but it has grown on me. I just wish I could figure out why my hero is so damned skinny and pale - and now it looks like his hair is turning gray!

I went thru issues as well installing my card.

When I plugged the coaxial into the TV card and ran a channel scan, it said there was nothing there. I tried both the digital and analog sockets on the card.

The next step will be for me to go over the wires to make sure that the damned thing is connected. I don't have any easy way to determine if there's actually a signal coming through, so I can't be sure that the problem isn't in the TV card.

But my guess is that the problem is Cox.

Hook up an old fashioned pair of rabbit ears. If there's any signal at all, they'll catch it.

My card has both an analog and a digital coax port.

Also, one thing I've never been able to have explained. On the 1.5x1.5x1/4" IR receiver, there's a 6ft lead that plugs into it, going to a large pencil eraser sized (IR maybe) box. Just what the heck is that suppose to be? Could it be the FM antenna??? Or does the TV antenna double for that?

Escape from Castle Wolfenstein
I've heard of it, never played it. It's a first-person shooter? I'm not good at those.

Alice
Never heard of it. Is that the scary/twisted take on Alice In Wonderland?

Serious Sam 1 & 2
Never heard of it.

Max Paine
Heard of it, don't remember anything about it - detective game?

Diablo 2 LOD
Installed and running. Even managed to retain my b'net characters. It looks surprisingly crude on the new screen, though.

I've also installed D1. I have the Hellfire disk, but I'm not sure if I'll install that - it was flawed, as I recall.

World of Warcraft
I've never played that. It sounds very interesting. But I have not yet managed to break my aversion to subscribing to a game. I hate monthly bills!

Still, maybe someday...

Warcraft 1-3
Installed W2 (which I love). I mostly play the Alamo scenario, although I've beaten it so many times that it's not a challenge any more. I have W3 somewhere, but I played it through a long time ago and wasn't that impressed.

Starcraft
Never played it. My roommate used to play it a lot, though. What's it like?

Sims
Own it, played it on the old system, and it bored the fertilizer out of me. Maybe I was playing it wrong.

I used to love the old Sim City, but the remake - was it Sim City 2000? - either didn't play on my system or sucked, I can't remember. It was a long time ago.

Escape from Castle Wolfenstein
Yeah, it's an First Person Shooter, but with a difference. I seriously think the modern WW2 type games were based on its style.

Alice
Also an FPS. Yup. Twisted, scary & fun.

Serious Sam 1 & 2
Another FPS that's just plain funny to play.

Max Paine
Yup. Another FPS. Amnesiac detective taking out the mob.

Diablo 2 LOD
Cool! I reinstalled it when I got my 7300 card just to see how it plays.

Yeah, you need the latest patch to fix it. But that's fixable.

World of Warcraft
It's an MMO. Graceysbane, Titaniumdiva and I have been playing for years. It also has chat ability, and sometimes we all get on and ferget to game. Lol. But at $15 a month with various payment plans, it's cheaper than other MMO's. It amortizes to roughly 50 cents a day or less.

I have it setup where they auto withdraw from my acct. Or you could get a game play card anddownload the trial version. I love the game for the scenery alone!

If you want on, and would like to join a guild, just let us know.

Warcraft 1-3
World of Warcraft is literally a world. Things change. It rains, snows, you can pvp other players, battle arenas, lots of different customizable characters & races. I'm babbling aren't I?

Starcraft
Umm... future/sciFi version of Warcraft. Warcraft II will be out soon.

Sims
Imho Sims are boring games. Beats me why people play.
