Spam, Spam, Everywhere

I've set up SpamKiller on my system (did I already mention that?). It has blocked quite a bit of spam (I get about 100-200 spams per day now), but it has also blocked some legitimate email - and I get so little of that that every piece is precious to me.

The funny thing is this. Two of the wrongly-blocked emails were from the real-world identity of my old friend charibdis; one was blocked because it "had many words used in financial services spam" (he was talking about refinancing), and another because it "had many words used in adult spam" (he was quoting one of my LiveJournal entries ).

My friend Steve also had several bounced emails, also for the "adult words" problem - in his case, though, not from quoting. I've added Steve and charibdis to my friends list, along with ANYTHING directly from LiveJournal, but if you email me it would be good if you could include [PRQ] in the subject - I've set up a filter to automatically accept those messages.

[PRQ]? What's it stand for? I'll try to remember to use that.

[PRQ]

I originally came up with it for my site ("Pete's RuneQuest & Roleplaying!"), and the letters seem unlikely to be used much by spammers.

You don't need to worry about it, though, because you're on my "friends" list now. Anything you send, and any comments that ANYONE sends from LiveJournal, will be automatically accepted by the filter.
