Couldn't Resist...

I really would rather not get into political argument online, because it's useless and annoying.

But I fell off the wagon today. The whole Tom Delay thing was too ridiculous...when I saw some idiots claiming that this was a Democratic plot, I HAD to say something. And I wasn't gentle about it.

I'm archiving my posts behind the cut.

Of course! He's a Republican. :D

Re: This is going to hurt the Libtards more

Yeah! Now those Democrats will lose control of the House for sure. Wait a minute...

I meant the Senate. Their vicious monopoly of power in the Senate will be broken forever, and the Democrats will finally be forced to take responsibility for the war in Iraq, the lies about WMDs, the tanking economy, the upsurge in the poverty rate, the astonishing corruption and arrogance they've demonstrated...wait, hold on. The Democrats don't have the Senate, either?

The White House, then! Yes, the voters will rise up in righteous indignation at this slur on their beloved "Hammer", and cast that incompetent big-government Democrat out of the White House. Justice at last!

What. What!? They don't have the White House, either? Jeeze.

The Supreme Court, then? No?

The majority of state governorships? Legislatures? Control of the intelligence community? The majority of large corporations and the media? No? None of that?

Well, hell - I guess they've got nothing to lose, then! Unless y'all are planning to send them all to Guantanamo, or something.

I presume that your head did not literally explode after you typed that, which frankly amazes me. I've heard some ridiculous things before, but this takes the cake.

The Democrats control NOTHING, and you Republicans are STILL whining and trying to pass the blame to anyone but yourselves.

Why don't y'all grow a pair and start acting like *men* for a change? Try taking a little responsibility for your actions, instead of whining and calling for your mommy.

And watch out for that weird fantasy life you're leading. Anyone who can say that the DNC controls the media when they barely control their own bladders is in serious danger of losing all touch with reality.

I like the "bladders" line particularly. :D

BWAHAHAHAHA!

Oh, the bladders line is a classic. That's great.:)

Well, we can hope that something is going to happen. With the DeLay business, and the suggestions that the Plame Affair was at the very least known about by the VP and Prez, and the assorted other scandals one would expect some changes.

On the other hand, I saw a bumper sticker saying something to the effect of "The Bush/Cheney Credo: You can fool some of the people all of the time." And that, perhaps, is the real problem. There is a percentage of the populace that will support the GOP no matter what they do because in their world perceptions the conservative GOP can do no wrong. And those folk will consistantly vote. I don't think there is such a blind following for the liberal Democrats. If liberal inclined folk decide they won't vote to support a less than perfect Democrat party then the Republicans win.
