Hot
It's 80° in the bedroom, and I, for one, just can't take it. Teri insists that it's too early to put in the air conditioners (the price of electricity being a major part of her argument), so I took our old two-way window fan from under the bed and took it out to the picnic table in the back yard for a good cleaning. Sebastian joined me.
It was trickier than I expected, and one of the side-screens broke twice - the plastic had become very brittle with time. That wasn't too big a deal, though, since the fan was designed to sit on the indoor side of a closed window screen. I cleaned it as best I could, took it upstairs, and installed it.
The cool breeze was nice, but nowhere near enough. Sebastian and Teri are asleep in there, but I've come into the den, turned the AC on high - this is the one room that I never took the AC out of - and have two fans pointing at me, as well. So I can stand it.
Supposedly tonight it will get quite cold, in which case the fan in the bedroom may be quite effective. But it's not cold enough now. So it looks like I'll be staying up for a while longer.
Side note: I wish I could have recorded Sebastian this evening. He wanted to play superheros, and made up his own character: "Knight Hero", a boy knight whose secret alter ego is mild-mannered Sebastian. He has a sword for hitting monsters and bad guys, and whirls it around in a circle when he's fighting. He also apparently lowers his head and butts his enemies, or something - when he's wearing his knight helmet, his head is "really strong".
Too much.
