Blogger

Since there are now three people on Blogger/BlogSpot that I want to read, I decided to see if my old Blogger account was still there.

It is, so I updated it. But I don't plan to update it much, if ever; LJ will continue to be my primary personal place.

I was hoping to be able to add the three people I want to read to my flist on BlogSpot. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to BE a flist option for BlogSpot. Which is kind of annoying. If anyone knows some way to create a flist for Blogspot, please let me know.

Here's a link to my blog, by the way: Insert Clever Name Here. I just migrated it to the new platform, whatever the hell that is. But as I said, don't expect it to be updated ever...and even if I do, it would probably just be a dupe of an entry here.

Someone on my flist has moved to MySpace. This...is cause for thought, on my part. But I'm not making any plans. I couldn't take being accused of being a creepy old pervert. For some reason the very idea makes my skin crawl.

Oh, on a completely unrelated note: I've discovered a new LJ axiom.

Never talk about defriending people unless you're willing to lose the WRONG people.

I talked about doing some defriending a while back. Not long after, one person defriended me (I hadn't defriended anyone, incidentally). I wrote and asked why, and the answer was "Well, you were talking about defriending, and I wanted to prune down my flist..."

Unfortunately this was one of those rare people who actually comments on an occasional entry. I don't want to lose people like that! So my stupid whining just ended up hurting me. Which I suppose is as it should be.

Jeeze, it's probably dangerous for me to talk like this NOW! I'd better shut up.

PS - how do you like the new icon?

I had a feeling LJ was quite unique with the friendslist - making a community style place for people to hang out in small circles. I mean of course, My Space does something similar now, but it's possible the older blogs don't have anything similar? Just a thought.

That sucks about the defriending. Always the way. :(

Interestingly enough, MySpace is now blocked by my workplace. I wonder why?

As for BlogSpot, I'm honestly surprised that Google hasn't stuck a flist-type feature into it. Maybe someday...or it may be in there, and I'm just not seeing it.

I assume because MySpace is a house-hold name, so they'd block it for possible content. Livejournal really isn't so much.

I hate even going to MySpace to read ones of people I know. There's just something so tacky about MS, you know?

Ah, so BlogSpot is Google's new baby? I'm so behind with the times. I doubt it's much longer before Google owns the Internet, so I'm sure livejournal will be owned by them eventually! ;)

Google actually owns a secondary internet. It's an exact copy of the www. but called www2.

I don't know why they've done it, but it's kinda creepy.

Then again, I find google kinda creepy, they have an overwhelmingly borg sensibilty, and a significant number of the folks I know who work there, have developed this bizarre hive mentality.

Sure the perks are OMG fabulous, but they're one small step from opening a condo development so you never leave.

That is creepy! I'm never sure what to make of google. I always use their stuff, but at the same time, it's scary how they're taking over everything. I don't think much good can come from a company holding the monopoly on anything, much like microsoft.

I'm not seeing your icons by your posts... just a line that says [link]...

I do/did see it when I went to comment, but not in your journal itself... it's not bad...
