Playing

Sebastian is really into playing lately. Any time anyone he likes visits, he takes their hand and drags them into his playroom. There he makes them sit on the floor and play with him and his toys.

Christmas went well, by the way. Sebastian has WAY too many presents, but we're finding ways to deal with that. I was pretty happy to see that the biggest hit of his presents were a wooden train track that had all of the engines from The Little Engine That Could. The little blue engine (which is the one That Could) not only talks (it says "I think I can" when tilted to go uphill, and "I thought I could!" when going downhill), but also makes great train noises and is even motorized! I'm really pleased about that, and so is Sebastian. Speaking of which, a couple of days ago Sebastian surprised us by demonstrated that he has now completely mastered humming, in tune. He also counted to twelve and said an 11-word sentence which we unfortunately failed to write down, and can't remember.

He's very big on correctness in songs lately, and is quick to tell us if we're not singing a song correctly: "No, that's not the song!"

As for myself, I got quite a few neat things for Christmas. Teri gave me Arcanum, which is a computer RPG much like Diablo but with SteamPunk-style quasi-Victorian technological elements as well as magic. There's also a heavier roleplaying focus than Diablo. I haven't had much chance to actually play the game yet, unfortunately, but I'm looking forward to it.

I also got a lot of other neat stuff, but I won't bore you with the list.
