BushCo's Weakness
The Bush "Administration" has an interesting set of weaknessess which I'd love to see exploited by the Democrats.
Part of it is their arrogance (which in itself is something that John Kerry would do well to accuse Bush of). BushCo will do almost anything to avoid admitting when they're wrong, even taking a huge amount of political damage. The 9/11 Condaleeze Rice testifying flap is a good example of this, although they actually caved a bit earlier than I hoped. Still, they took a good solid hit simply because they took a stupid stand initially and then couldn't bear to admit that they were wrong.
(If you believe, however, that they were telling the truth and that it was simply a matter of high principle and separation of powers, you can stop reading now. This isn't the blog you're looking for.)
The other half of their problem is a strong contrarian strain. Tell them to do something, and they'll almost certainly do the exact opposite - particularly if you're a Democrat or liberal. I've known people like that, and I used to joke that if I wanted to kill them, all I'd have to do is demand that they keep breathing.
So John Kerry and the Democrats would be smart to loudly and publicly demand that the Republicans take all sorts of reasonable and specific actions on various issues. Each demand would reduce the options of BushCo, purely because of their own overweening pride. The results would doubtless be painful for the country in the short run, but the long-term effect - getting rid of Bush - would be more than worth it.
