Get off my back!

For several weeks now I've had a bad pain in my shoulders. I thought I was developing arthritis, or tendonitis, or something.

Then I realized that my backpack was too damned heavy. The massive new Basic Roleplaying book was breaking my back.

So I took a lot of crap out of my backpack. Now I feel a lot better - in fact, I'm fine.

As for Basic Roleplaying, it's outstanding - but it badly needs a modernize character creation system.

The new edition of BRP came out?

Sounds like I need to rattle some cages down at Pandemonium....

What would a Modern character creation system be like? I would assume less random at least, but I'm not up on anything recent.

That's his play test copy, I think.

Oh.... ok... then I'll not bug them at the store...yet.

I just checked the website and they claim it was released in June. So I'm back to rattling the cages at the store for not stocking it.

Right, it came out on June 24th. It's a big book; 399 pages. I don't know what the cost is. I think Chaosium is also selling PDFs of it on their website, and they already have some supplements either in the pipeline or available for sale.

The character design system (at least the one that I've read so far - I'm only half-way through the book) is fairly simple. There are no character advantages or disadantages, for example.

It strikes me that a "modern" character creation system would make an excellent supplement.

I bought the beta test copy -- for the cover. Guess I need to look at the final release copy and what cover they decided to go with.

But I'm hoping that the supplements and other things go well.

Glad you solved your back problem ;)
