Bow and arrow

I just did something that my father used to do for me: made a bow and arrow for Sebastian. It worked better than I expected.

It's just a simple thing, of course. I took a fairly straight green branch, about three feet long, cut a notch on both ends, and tied a piece of string to both ends - under tension, of course. Then I took a couple of sticks, smoothed them a little (I should have smoothed them more, one of them took out a patch of skin from my knuckle), and put a notch in the end. Sebastian seemed pretty pleased and impressed.

I remember doing that as a kid. The result didn't have much range, but I could hit a moving cat at 5 yards.
