F_ck you, Ray Bradbury

Ray Bradbury is threatening to sue Michael Moore, claiming that Moore's documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 somehow detracts from his novel Fahrenheit 451.

What a f_cking whore he is.

Here's an excerpt from an interview of Bradbury in Salon magazine (membership required to view):
Q: What do you think of President Bush?

Bradbury: He's wonderful. We needed him. Clinton is a shithead and we're glad to be rid of him.

Would that I had the power to command a world-class savage beating be administered to that jackass...what can you say about someone who writes against book-burning and then allies himself with someone like Bush? If anyone in this world represents the book-burning mindset these days, it's that bastard Bush and his crooked cronies.

What I want to know is what looney lawyer decided that somehow Bradbury had a leg to stand on? There is no similarity between the two works, they are in totally different mediums, one a work of fiction the other a documentary. Bradbury cannot claim ownership of a trademark that is in any way being infringed on the way trademark law is written (since Fahrenheit is in the public domain, as is 9/11).

Someone is getting a tired, old deluded fool (who vaguely thinks what he writes is SF) to sign on to this deal out of a misguided concept of patriotism. Someone needs follow the money on who planted this idea in his head (and the lawyers).

Impression I got, most lately, is that he actually talked to Moore recently
and they were going to discuss the thing. Story at http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2004/06/18/entertainment2219EDT0805.DTL.

That's the most recent thing I found in Googling.

It isn't going to hurt Moore and the movie if he ends up changing the name
of the film.

Interesting that he refers to himself using the Royal "We".
