Wow update: Bored

I was bored with WoW for the first time last night. Nobody I knew was on (except for a moment or two), and there wasn't a lot I could do. The Horde was rampaging everywhere my characters were, so after I took my fighter on a long run through the Wetlands to get another flight path, I packed it in.

I was hoping to get him to Darnassus to learn how to use a bow, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. Oh, and I tried a battleground with my mage; unfortunately everyone else was four levels higher, so I just got killed over and over and over...

The best time to enter a BG is if the last digit of your level is 6-9. Otherwise it's just a crapfest, especially if you're cloth.

In Warsong gulch, as a mage, when the enemy is higher level than you, go to high ground. That is, head to the roof of your base and play defense, and rain blizzards down on the enemy (go to the edge center on the flag and make sure you can hit that area from where you are standing).

Darnasus - you need to go from Stormwind to the Elf area, and then find the boat going there. It goes to a fishing village first, then you take the portal arch there to it.

To get to Darnassus, you need to get to Darkshore, go down the docks, take the right branch, and catch the boat.

So you'd haveta take one boat, and then another. I think the WoWmaps link I sent you has the boat paths?

I read somewhere that the boat to Darnassus isn't available on all servers. I waited on the Darkshore dock for a while, and it never showed up.

Huh??? It should be.

If you can do it? Run down to Booty Bay and catch the boat there, and then run up the other continent to Darkshore.

I don't know...is it worth it, just to be able to use a bow? I have crossbow skill now.

Well, the other thing of it is, is you'll be getting xp for discovering new areas, and eventually you'll be sent on quests to the other continent for dungeon runs & such. So it's best to get the fp's now, than having to hunt them down later. And also knowing the layout of the other capital cities helps too.

And there are other things to see there as well.

Just west of The Crossroads in The Barrens, is a shrine WoW erected for a player who died in-game.

There are 2 other player shrines, and other monuments that you can visit as well.
