The Vapors

Even if you've heard of them, you probably think they're just a one-hit wonder; the success of "Turning Japanese" may not have been a good thing for the Vapors. But if you ever get a chance to pick up one of their albums, you really should.

I was a fan from their first LP, and I can tell you something pretty unusual about the Vapors: they never did a bad song. Really! Both "New Clear Days" and "Magnets" are simply outstanding, every song a great piece of music. Unlike most of the crap that's being forced down the public's throat by the record companies these days...

Two collections of the Vapors have been put out on CD: "Anthology", which is basically one-and-a-half of their two albums, and "Vaporized", which is both of them. I'm not sure if they're still in print, but like I said: if you get the chance to pick up either one, you should. I can't recommend them highly enough.

On an unrelated note, if you'd like to see all the reviews I've written on amazon.com here they are.
