Have you ever read Manxmouse by Paul Gallico? It's a wonderful little children's book. I actually discovered it on a trip to the UK back in the early 1990's and searched for a copy here in the US for years before finding one. You might be able to find a copy at the local library. JK Rowling lists it as one of her favorites and it's become much easier to find because of it.
