Phone
I've been awfully busy for the past several days, which is why I haven't been keeping up with this journal.
But something has come up.
I've been getting a lot of calls from a lot of friends at work. I enjoy them; they're pretty much all that remains of my social life. Unfortunately, I have been getting in trouble over them.
Our phone use at work is tracked, and I have consistantly been the number one person for phone use in my department for quite a while. Of course, a fair chunk of that is for business, but I can't deny that more of it is personal. I also can't deny that Teri is the #1 caller. We've talked about it, and she's going to call me less often. And when she does have to call, she'll call my cell phone; we recently changed plans so that she can call me whenever she wants for no cost.
And incidentally, I can now call anyone with an AT&T Wireless or Cingular phone for no cost, too. The recipient would still use air time if they don't have a Cingular mobile-to-mobile plan, but for me it's free. And of course nights and weekends are free, too. I'm trying to collect the cell phone numbers of friends on that plan, so I can capitalize on that free calling.
Another advantage is that my calling area is now nation-wide, so I can call my sister in Wisconsin more often.
Anyway, I have to ask everyone to try to call me at home in the evenings (between 6pm and 9pm most nights), or on weekends. If it's an emergency, of course, please do call; I'm not in prison, and I miss my friends. It would be nice if you could call my cell phone instead of my work number (although even the cell phone is a potential issue), but it won't be the end of the world if I receive an occasional call at work.
There are some other, related things going on; more on that later.
