Translated

My friend [livejournal.com profile] klyfix just pointed out that one of my old articles has been translated into Portuguese. It's "The Gamemaster's Hall of Shame" (this link is to the original version), and it's not the first time I've seen it translated - if I recall, I've seen in it Russian, Finnish, and possibly Polish as well.

I wrote it about ten years ago, and it has always been a little odd. Within a year or two someone emailed me a copy that was being circulated in England, with my name removed. This was before the World Wide Web existed, so it did surprise me a bit.

Unfortunately the translation has my old tiac address, which means that They took it from a really old source.

Thanks, Klyfix! You know, I'm really wondering how the bleep you found this thing.

Found it by putting one of your usernames in Google; I was curious to see what you've been writing of late (you mentioned writing a lot politics at some point). The foreign language in the Google blurb stood out. It's interesting what sort of stuff is becoming World Wide; I've seen RPG and Anime stuff in a whole lot of countries.

Strikes me that we probably miss a lot of stuff that is written in other than the Western (Roman?) alphabet; I doubt that Google would catch something in Chinese or the three Japanese scripts.

I'm guessing the political writing of late is under a different name than the one I was looking for?

Actually, I've been doing all my political writing of late as "Peter Maranci".
