Kitties and Lions and Tigers

It was a good weekend. Lots of fun; Teri and I even got some time to ourselves, and went to see The Incredibles. Great movie!

On Saturday, we were driving Teri to the animal shelter when Sebastian suddenly burst out laughing.

"Kitties can't fit people in their mouths!"

Huh?

"Sebastian, what do you mean?"

"Kitties can't eat people, because they can't fit people in their mouths!"

"Oh." Pause.

"That's true, baby boy! But lions and tigers can eat people. They couldn't fit a whole person in their mouths, but they could take bites!"

At this point I realize that what I am saying is probably not too smart. It could make the boy afraid of lions and tigers...which he should be, but not excessively. God, parenting can be confusing. Time for damage control.

"Sebastian, most lions and tigers don't eat people. A few might do that sometimes, but most don't eat people."

"They just lick them?"

At which point Teri and I burst out laughing. We couldn't help it. And Sebastian joined in. That boy has a great sense of humor.
