Yet another Yahoo entry
I lost my temper a little from a response in the ongoing "Walter" thread on Yahoo, and just posted the following:

Typical GOP party-line nonsense. You obviously didn't actually GO to the site with the voting information, but that didn't stop you from shooting your mouth off with a pack of lies.
Gore *was* leading, which is why the networks called the state for him. He did not sue for "recount after recount" - that's a typical GOP lie. He sued for ONE recount, which was shut down by paid GOP operatives who were dispatched from Washington DC. Eventually the Supreme Court stepped in and five of the GOP "justices" decided to violate their oaths of office.
As for the detached chad thing, congratulations! You couldn't be more wrong. BUSH actually benefited from counting "dented" chads. Check the Vote-O-Matic for yourself and see, if you dare.
Now, try very hard to read this and understand it: The "clear intent" we're talking about here also applies to ballots in which the voter checked the box next to a candidate's name AND wrote the name in. In other words, for example, if they checked the box next to "George W. Bush" AND wrote "George W. Bush" on the write-in line. That's called an "overvote".
In such a case, the intent of the votor couldn't be more clear, and the Florida State Code REQUIRES that that vote be counted. Nonetheless, the overvotes were *not* counted, and that's a large part of why the vote totals were even in doubt. When overvotes were counted - as the law REQUIRES - Gore clearly won.
Of course, there's also the issue of the illegal pre-election elimination of thousands of Democratic votors based on the false reports of a Texas company that had done considerable business with Bush. The elimination, of course, was done under the aegis of Bush's BROTHER and his lover, Katherine Harris.
You know, if one-THOUSANDTH as much bare-faced electoral fraud was committed by a Democrat, you'd be screaming until your lungs everted and marching to Washington DC with your gun clutched in your sweaty little hands. But since it was a GOP vote-stealing project, you want everyone to lie back, take it, and then pretend as if nothing had happened.
Sorry, but the American electoral system was raped, just as the Bush thugs are raping the economy, government, and environment right now. And we're not going to close our eyes this time.
