I hereby announce my formal resignation from the human race.

It shouldn't be necessary to list the many reasons that I have decided to end my association with my former species; they are obvious to anyone with even the most rudimentary scrap of common sense. The violence. The stupidity. The obstinate, beyond-all-sanity insistence on destroying the planet, despite blatant evidence - obvious to any creature able to think or see - of serious environmental degradation.

The close-mindedness. The intolerance. The cruelty you so casually display towards each other, and even to your own children.

The arrogant, smug, self-righteous contempt so many of you display towards basic common sense and the intelligence that could have saved you.

The sheer, suicidal short-sightedness. You call yourselves homo sapiens, "wise Man", and yet the vast majority of you fail to recognize the epochal irony of that name.

Humanity is a rapidly sinking ship, and I for one want off. (Note to self: rats have been a relatively successful species, compared with human beings. Possibility?)

Enough.

On a related note, I would like to announce that I am now accepting applications for a new species to join. Considering the absolutely abysmal performance of the human race, I am sorry to say that the primate family is hereby excluded from consideration; however, inquiries from all other species are welcome. Please send an application listing species characteristics and any special points of interest to this address.
