Arisia

I've been left off of most of the program, but my understanding is that I should be on the following panels:

DAY TIME LOCATION PANEL
Friday 9PM Holmes Fredric Brown
Saturday 5PM Back Bay Party Genesis Scenarios
Saturday 6PM Holmes Cordwainer Smith
Sunday 12 Noon Constitution Fan Web Design

I will admit to being concerned; it shouldn't bother me, but it does. "Party Genesis Scenarios", in particular, is my concept - I wrote the original article, and as far as I know no one has ever done as much as I did with the concept (or anything much at all, come to think of it). I know it's just an error...and it's silly to feel proprietary about an idea. But there are so few really original ideas that I've come up with that it's hard not to feel possessive of the ones that I have...

You're not the only one with weird programming... Jonathan Woodward was posting in his journal that he is on more non-gaming panels than gaming panels this year (and they dropped him from the plotting panel that I'm on and was the suggester of).

Is Beth McCoy not coming this year? She's no on the program anywhere.

A number of the regular authors (like Josepha Sherman) also seem to AWOL from the program, and possibly not appearing.

Did you notice that they merged my "Creative Plagiarism" panel into your plot panel?

Haven't heard anything about/from Beth, we're not in contact.

Actually, I'm not in contact with most IR old-timers; there's you, Kiralee, and Cindy. Lois visits once in a while. I still exchange email with Scott sometimes, and there's Virgil of course. Plus Jon Mitzman wrote a zine or two, didn't he? Hmm, and once in a blue moon I exchange an email with Rich Staats. But that's about it.

Maybe after the con we should put more of an appearance into the Arisia LJ; it's usually pretty quite there, so we can brainstorm about the decline of gaming there. Of course, some asshole will inevitably pull the "volunteer" line, at which point I will happily release the hounds.

If only I had hounds...

Yes, I know about the merging - it annoyed me because I did sign up for both of them and had very different takes on the subjects. (I've done some interesting 'creative plagerism' over the years, including using the Maltese Falcon as a model for a near future SF game, that gives me some very unusual approaches for folks).

I haven't seen Scott myself since last Arisia, but I believe Kiralee has chatted with him a few times since then. He was still hanging around Cathy & Brian Prebble, but C&B have just moved to Pennyslvania and sold their B&B here in Mass so no recent contact.

Beth isn't doing much writing-wise so I haven't really heard much from her, the child rearing appears to have taken over her journal when I've looked there in past months).

As far as I know, Rich is still overseas and out of communication, not a word from him since last year.

Collie Collier is doing web design as Laughing Collie Productions www.laughingcollie.com I believe, in California.

Chris Aylott is still running the spacecrime continium in North Hampton (www.spacecrime.com)

David Dunham (www.pensee.com/dunham) is doing computer game conversions for gamehouse.com onto MAC OS X

Jim Vassilakos - last I heard was in CA, but the web links and email I have for him appear to be abandoned or not working.

David Dickie - no idea of present whereabouts or contact info

The Glovers - No idea, we lost contact with them while we were still publising IR.

I didn't know that Scott had moved (as I assume he has). Good grief! That probably means his email address has changed.

I thought Rich was still in the US, but you may have later information than I do. Last I heard, he was going to be at the con.

I haven't heard from Rich directly since just before last Arisia. None of his web stuff has been updated in a very long time that I am aware of.

I heard from him six to eight weeks ago. He said he was planning to be at the con, and gave permission for Programming to pass around his "How to Moderate a Panel" article.

He's not listed in the programming book.

Also you might want to drop by [livejournal.com profile] woodwardiocom and see the rather heated debate regarding Arisia going on there that I'm involved in. You're input would be valuable, I think.

Ignore my previous note about Jonathan's journal... he's had enough of our debate and it's wound down at this point with really not much else to be said with the persona I was discussing things with.
