Cast of Characters
Okay, then. I'm blatantly imitating ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
unquietsoul5 and doing a Cast of Characters post. This won't be repeated often; only when new people come in. Rarely, in other words.
Me: I work in Boston, live in Rhode Island. In my spare time I run a website about the defunct roleplaying game RuneQuest, which may be making a comeback. Haven't done much with the site lately, but I've been adding to it since 1996, so it's big.
I also have been doing an advice column online recently. It's fun, but can be too addicting.
Sebastian: My red-haired little boy, born in October 2001. He's the topic I post the most about, probably, and I write a lot of this journal with him in mind. Someday, I suppose he'll read this. And he'll probably be incredibly embarrassed.
Teri: My wife. We met online and were married a few years later. She's computer-literate (obviously), but no matter how much I beg and plead she won't start a journal.
We live in Rhode Island with Sebastian and our two cats.
Mom and Dad: My parents. They live in Brookline, only minutes away from where I work. Nonetheless, I don't get to see them as often as I'd like. Dad reads this sometimes, although he doesn't have a journal himself. Mom's a technophobe, but she's coming to the realization that computers are a requirement to be well-informed these days.
Dan: My brother. He lives in Needham with his wife, Jen, and two remarkably cute kids, William and Lily. I don't get to see any of them as often as I would like, believe me.
Christina: My sister. She's an art professor in Wisconsin now. Yet another family member that I don't get to see her much; I miss her.
stairflight: I met her through roleplaying when I came to Boston, just after I graduated from college. It makes my mind reel to think of all the things she's introduced me to: Arisia, amateur video (which we made for the Arisia contest), acting...she moved out of the area a while ago, but visits us fairly often. Sebastian is crazy about her. After years of begging and pleading she recently started a journal, although I don't know if she plans to post in it at all.
klyfix: One of my Boston-area friends, a very good writer (although he won't admit it) and expert on a wide variety of SF genre stuff, particularly anime and genre TV. Although he'll probably be annoyed that I say so. Also quite a good gamemaster; he has improved a lot over the years. If I recall correctly, he introduced me to MST3K.
charibdis: A charter member of the Boston gang, and the human belonging to our former cat. He doesn't update his journal much, unfortunately, but he's still out there. Come to think of it, I probably wouldn't be here on LJ if it wasn't for him; he gave me an invite. He visits us in RI, not as often as I would wish.
Steve: The oldest friend I have, going back to elementary school (I think). There are too many things I could say. Steve's my gateway into a more insane and bizarre world, and always has been. It's a continual source of mystery to me how he puts up with someone as boring as me.
I fell out of touch with Steve for many years after I graduated from college, but eventually he found a mention of him on my website when he was doing a vanity search, and we're back in contact again!
Scott: My roommate for many years before I got married, he introduced me to more than a few odd things (Ranma 1/2 leaps to mind). He has saved my computer more than once. No journal, though, and he's not the best at responding to email (*cough*).

arisia: My big event of the year, I've been to every Arisia convention since the very first one. Lois dragged me there, and obviously I liked it. I've been a panelist there for ten years or more. Most years I write a fairly long and tedious con report.
unquietsoul5: We met through the Interregnum APA, as I recall, but I don't remember the circumstances. Over the years we've gamed together (he ran a GREAT game that I've always hoped would start again), hung out at Arisia together, and in the past few years we've done a lot of commenting on each others journal. He's my #1 commenter, and I'm...well, I must be in his top five. Probably. If you haven't figured it out, his journal is a lot more popular than mine. 
Oh, he and his wife dancing_kiralee took over editing and publishing duties on the Interregnum APA when I burned out. And their roommate, C. was a frequent contributor.
Come to think of it, most of my friends wrote for Interregnum. And there are a number of people on LJ who wrote for it;archangelbeth, for example.
D&D group: I play in a D&D group on Thursdays by Hobson's Choice. I still find the logic of the system baffling at times, but I have fun, and that's what counts. Once in a while, if I have a memorable session, I post about it.
Have I forgotten anyone? I'd mention my other active LJ friends, but this is already getting too long.
