...mmmmMMMMARGHHHHH!!!!!!! (Advicenators-style)

I can't take it. Once again I've come across a question on Advicenators that I really want to answer, but can't, because I would deserve (and probably get) a "1" rating.

Maybe I should start a community here for LJ moderators to snark and discuss stupid questions, so I can get it out of my system.

Here's the question:

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. The d-drive is a cd/dvd player and cd burner. It worked fine at one point, but a couple of weeks ago, it stopped working all together. Soon after a drop in the floor, the dvd play started working, but it wont read cds now. My question is, how should i fix this. it will not read burnt cds with music, burnt cds with files, or regular music cds. i'm competely lost here. got any ideas?

My answer:

Since dropping it made the DVD ROM work, you need to drop it more. Start by dropping it from a high of five feet off of a concrete floor. If that doesn't work, you obviously need to drop it more, and harder. In any case, once you start dropping it off a five-story building, it's sure to not only be fully fixed, but it will probably be even more efficient and powerful.

Just don't drop it off a skyscraper, or it will turn into SKYNET and take over the world!
