Voting

I forgot to say: On the way home from the doctor, we stopped and voted. I waited in the car with Sebastian while Teri went in, and then Teri waited while I went in.

I voted for Democrats, of course, in every case except one. I couldn't bring myself to vote for Patrick Kennedy. Sorry, but his drunken driving is unforgivable in my book, and damn it, there have GOT to be more qualified candidates than that. The Kennedy name is not some sort of patent of royalty. So I voted for the independent candidate.

The other place in which I surprised myself was a local race. As I mentioned a while ago, the local Democratic machine crushed a progressive Democratic incumbent; they used his cousin to beat him in the primaries. When it came down to it, I couldn't vote for Jon Brien. So I did a write-in for Todd Brien, that defeated progressive, instead. And I felt good about that.

We got an awful lot of phone calls again today. I suppose we're unlikely to get any more. You know, I'm going to miss that. It almost gave me a feeling of participating in my government.
