Allergy Test Final

I did a voice post about this, but LJ's autotranscribe feature doesn't seem to be working any more. Incidentally, I can only voicepost from a land line these days - and sometimes even THAT doesn't work.

LJ is sucking more and more, I'd say.

Anyway, on Friday I went over to the MGH dermatology office and they evaluated the results of the test. And the result was...NOTHING! According to the test, I'm not allergic to anything. I didn't even show the normal skin irritation that normal people get from metals such as cobalt!

I still have a pretty bad case of razor burn and irritation from the tape. But the doctor was sure that I wasn't allergic to the tape itself, and none of the test areas were even questionable. They seemed to be a bit surprised by that. They told me that the test was the most complete one that they do, too.

So now what? Well, the best guess is that I might have had some sort of reaction to a combination of sweat and chafing - which doesn't seem unreasonable. It could be labeled "dermatitis" or "eczema", both of which pretty much mean "skin irritation". The doctor is going to write it up in a report for my dermatologist. With any luck I'll be able to avoid having a biopsy.
