I had the second wisdom tooth filling tonight, and it went very well. He was able to avoid drilling the biting surface, and was quite pleased at how things went. I brought my mp3 player and listened to my "sleep" folder...no problems!
Next morning: it turned out that there was an old filling in there, with some decay beneath it. He'd told me he expected it to be difficult, and that he thought he'd have to take out part of the biting surface (he'd been able to stick to the side on the opposite tooth), but it went really smoothly; apparently it was very easy to control my tongue. So he did a wrap-around filling on the side only.
My jaws are sore this morning, but the tooth is fine!
