How long would you wait?

Okay, here's a question: if you found an old friend or acquaintance here on LJ, and friended them, and did a comment saying "hi" or sent them an email...how long would you wait for them to respond or friend you back before dropping them?

I have two of them to deal with, right now. I honestly have no idea why they're not friending me back or responding to my emails. But I'm thinking it's time to cut my losses.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue, or am I (the loneliest man on LJ) the only one?

Was it during the time the email notifications were fuxx0red?

Nope! Well, make that a qualified "nope". In one case, it was something like six months ago. In the other, it was about a month ago...but I've looked at their journal, at the comment I made, and there was no reply.

I think the six-month person is going to get axed. It's not like she's commenting on my journal, after all.

I may be desperate for comments, but I have my pride. Actually, I don't really have much pride, but I do have my irritability. Image

I've got two of those, but both only update their journal about once a year or so, so they probably just haven't seen them yet.

Any chance yours have just missed seeing your comments?

I've had a couple of people I've friended and they've not friended me back. I've also had a couple of people de friend me for no reason at all, without even warning me. It sucks when it happens. My advice is comment again, and if they don't reply, give them up as a loss.
