Dinner with Whitehouse

I keep forgetting, but Teri and I are going to a dinner tonight for Sheldon Whitehouse. He's running for Lincoln Chaffee's Senate seat. I'm a little nervous, because he'll probably hit us up for money; of course, we don't have any. Still, this was presented as an opportunity to ask him questions, and I'm looking forward to that.

I guess this is part of my "try new things" philosophy.

If you like his answers and do want to help, then when he asks for money don't be afraid to say that you don't have any but want to help, and could you get the number of whomever is in charge of volunteer campaign staff in your area. Every political campaign is always short on money, yes, but they are also always short on volunteer help, too. Well, intelligent and reliable volunteer help, at least, which is hard to come buy and for which you certainly would qualify. If you are willing to spend an afternoon stumping for him that's just as valuable as cash.

I'm curious as to how that went...
