Holy cow!

Read this:

Was the 2004 Election Stolen? (written by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Rolling Stone)

Stunning. The sad thing is that I'm sure that not a single Bush supporter - or even a non-aligned one - will ever believe it, despite the voluminous evidence (this is one of the most thoroughly-sourced articles I've ever seen online). And what's worse, I'd bet that even most Democrats would refuse to believe it.

If it's true, the American systems of voting and governance are so hopelessly corrupted that I for one see no way for them to be repaired short of widespread revolution.

On an unrelated note, I assume everyone has seen the articles today about the Justice Department asking Internet carriers to allow them to monitor all internet activity, including email and web searches? And to store that information for at least two years?

Better watch where you're surfing, because according to the reports, they started by claiming that they needed that info to fight terrorists...and almost immediately morphed that reason into fighting child pornography, and then crime of all sorts.

Yes, I saw this today at truthout.org but it was too big to post to my journal. It basically says what I've been saying now since the election, in more detail, that Ohio was one big fixed trick combining a bunch of diverse elements, campaign fraud, black box voting, mishandling of minority voting stations and fund frauds and crimes (including coingate) that is obvious to anyone who has the brain cells to connect some really basic dots.

The Police state is here.... friendly fascism.

Yeah, they stole it.

I'm related to Republicans who agree, it was stolen, but this is necessary, because the American people are too dumb to know what's good for them, ESPECIALLY the "youth" (read- anyone under 30-- this means me).

Pretty messed up, huh?

The optimistic thing I can say, for what it's worth, is that Ohio (and Florida, for that matter) are not the whole of the nation. Ohio is pretty clearly corrupt as all get-out and thus such a thing can be gotten away with but the Fall elections are not all in Ohio.

And it appears that it is not 100% accepted that the article holds up. Note the posting here; "tristero" is hardly a GOP apologist (he's stated that he thinks Ohio was stolen) but he suggests there may be some validity to counter-arguments.

Presented in the interest of, well, being Fair and Balanced. Or something.

Funny coincidence or absolute paranoia

This is probably completely off topic and totally irrelevant, but I have to tell someone about it. Something odd happened to me about half an hour ago.
(At this point turn on your paranoid mode.)I was going to a nearby supermarket with my dad, when the registry plate of a truck coming towards us caught my eye. It said:
BIL-990
I had an amusing thought and I told to my dad that it might be an omen telling us that we might make some expensive purchases. The next cars plate said:
EIX-... ('EI' means no in finnish.)
I had a disturbing feeling about it. The next cars plate said:
OOF-...
I joked to my dad that maybe someone was watching us and did something to registry plates in order to communicate with us. The next cars plate said:
SHH-...
When I noticed that I said to my dad that maybe that someone doesn't want any attention and maybe I should shut up. Then a van turned to our road and kept driving in front of us. Its plate said:
SJA-... ('JA' means yes in swedish, Finland second official language.)
From that point on I kept my mouth shut. This story is true. I'm not making this up. Notify that the street had very little traffic. Up to the SJA-... there were only 3-4 other cars on the road. Either its a very rare chain of coincidences with no meaning whatsoever or the Big Brother is watching us VERY closely. If this is not a coincidence, then you can stop whining about one election fraud. If 'They' had this much control over everything, then democrats never had any chances of winning the election, and never will. Or maybe its just Finland that turned into a police state...
