A number of times I've amazed House fans by telling them that Hugh Laurie is British, and what's more, that he's a great comic actor. They rarely believe me. Fortunately I just found this:
I love Hugh Laurie, seeing him in House for the first time was such a shock. He is a really good actor if he can convince lots of people he's American, especially as he is so very English sounding IRL!
