It was a Snakebite from Boston Beer Works. My brother said it was the one I'd have the least trouble drinking. Half hard cider, half beer. He said the beer taste overwhelmed the cider, which just sweetened it a bit, and I believe him.
After I drank it I got a very bitter aftertaste, and it burned in my stomach for hours. I should explain that I've had the occasional sip of wine, and have drunk perhaps twenty (or less) glasses of wine in my 43 years. And that's my total experience with alcohol.
The alcohol didn't affect me, of course. At my body weight, that would be impossible even if I didn't have a very high resistance to alcohol. Once Teri made me chug three glasses of wine in a row, and she was shocked when it didn't affect me at all.
He was right to recommend a cider. Try Woodchuck Draft Cider. No beer is mixed in at all, and it tastes pretty damn good, even if you don't like regular beer.
Have you drank any other kind of alcoholic beverage? I was about 19 when I tried the first kind of beer that I liked, which was Newcastle Brown Ale. My classy taste in alcohol has only gone downhill since then...
