Synchronicity

Scene: Corporate Kitchenette #6351

A Tupperware bowl of Campbell's Chunky Sirloin Burger soup, carefully covered with a paper towel, is placed within a microwave oven. The timer is set, the cooking begins. Our Hero waits aimlessly for lunch to be ready. For some reason one of his favorite lines from GalaxyQuest floats into his mind, and he subvocalizes:

"The creature arrived inside-out.
And then it exploded."

And on the word "exploded", the soup did, in fact, explode.

Still no computer today. I went a little nuts and tried hooking up various old dead computers over the weekend. One got as far as a CHECKSUM failure and died before reaching the Windows splash screen; it absolutely refused to recognize a keyboard, so no adjustment of the BIOS is possible. The other just whirred and beeped for a while, but if any video signal was being generated, it never made it to the monitor.

Let me know

The offer of the machine here remains open, if you need it and can arrange to pick it up. Kiralee and I will be leaving town on the 5th for Seattle and won't be back around until the 15th. Cindy is in the middle of tax season and is generally not home and conscious at the same time for more than an hour a day, so picking it up while we are away is not possible.

Best of Luck

Joe

Thanks, Joe. I'll definitely keep that in mind, and I really appreciate it. Have fun in Seattle, if I don't see you before then!
