Why Johnny Still Votes Republican
Someone over on Askville asked if there were any Libertarian books for children. I couldn't resist making the following comment:
No. They should learn to write their own books!
Giving kids books just weakens their self-reliance. We've had enough of these babies running (I mean crawling) around looking for a handout from their parents! Why don't they go out and get a job? They're LITERALLY sucking at the teats of their mothers - it's pure socialism. They should be paying for that milk!

Seriously, I don't know any specifically Libertarian books for young kids, but the earlier science fiction of L. Neil Smith (occasional Libertarian candidate for higher office, including the Presidency) is extremely well done. There are sexual elements in the stories, but they are comparatively restrained and frankly most of them sailed right over MY head when I first read them. I'd think they'd be fine for an intelligent 14 or 15-year-old, all the way up to an adult.
I would also be remiss if I failed to mention Robert A. Heinlein. Although of course his later, more "adult" work might not be considered appropriate for children and young teens. His character Lazarus Long seemed determined to commit just about every form of incest imaginable, and several that previously weren't. Imaginable, that is.
But Heinlein's juveniles are great reading for children ages 8 and up, at a guess. I still re-read them.
Of course I wasn't stupid enough to put my answer in an actual answer slot - I could get down-rated. I threw it into the discussion area instead.

If you like comics, V for Vendetta, while technically an Anarchist book, has many Libertarian themes as well (one of the few books my fiance the card carrying Libertarian and myself, the Anarcho-Socialist, both love with equal fervor).
