Sebastian and the midnight explosion of puke

The subject pretty much says it all, doesn't it?

I heard him cough and moan late last night. Calmly, I got out of bed and walked over to his room. I was able to get the bucket in place in time, but the explosion was so violent that it came out of his nose, too; there was some mess.

To my surprise Teri slept through the whole thing. I woke her up after he was done to help (there was a lot to do; he needed to be cleaned up and comforted, for one thing). We cleaned him up, I started the laundry, and we put him back to bed.

Later that night I heard a "thump!" and a fussing noise. I went into his room and almost stepped on him; he'd fallen on the floor and was tangled up in the sheet. He was half-conscious and thrashing around weakly. I managed to get him back on the bed, and found that he had a pretty high temperature. Couldn't find the thermometer, but his head was quite warm and his hands were positively hot. So I gave him some children's Tylenol.

He ended up spending the rest of the night in our bed. I stayed home today to take care of him (Teri had some things she had to do). But we all took him to the doctor this morning.

The doctor wasn't sure what it was. Pneumonia is going around his school, but it's definitely not that. It doesn't really match any one thing. And when we were in the office, Sebastian seemed to feel great.

But a couple of hours later he was crying and feeling awful again. An hour after that, he seemed fine. Whatever this thing is, it's weird.

Boy, am I tired.
