Clinton debates

Hillary has accepted a debate offer from the FOX News network, and is urging Obama to debate her there.

In the meantime she has sworn off any debates on the MSNBC network because one of their reporters said that her campaign had been "pimping" Chelsea by having her call and lobby superdelegates.

I'm sure that was offensive to her...but given that she's now a friend of FOX News, the whole thing smells like bullshit to me. I hate to say this, but the Clintons seem to be raising the politics of victimhood to new heights. "Boo hoo, they called my daughter names...vote for me because I've proved I can cope with the Republican smear machine!"

And what about the joke that McCain told about Chelsea? "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno." It's funny how Hillary was able to work so warmly and closely with McCain for so many years afterwards. You'd think her feelings would have been hurt!

Bullshit. It's all bullshit.

Sorry. Tired. Going to sleep now. I'm running a HUGE sleep deficit.

Last I checked the MSNBC folk chastened the person in question so the debate goes on. He did, after all, call Chelsea a whore; I probably would have done the same thing. Harry Truman once sent a letter to a critic who disliked his daughter's singing saying that if he ever met him in person he'd give him a beating; this while he was President.

The McCain thing probably has more to it than we know, dollars to donuts. It was not in a truly public forum (a Republican doin's in 1998), for one thing.

FOX certainly is evil, but their pet candidate (Rucy Guiliani) is long gone. They probably want anything to keep relevant, and I suspect Hillary wants to get Obama into as many debates as possible since from what I gather he's really not that good at "debate" in the form we see on TV.

I don't see that any of this is "bullshit"; it's politics. Granted that they may often be synonyms, but barring switching to a system of Absolute Monarchy under Divine Right we're not going to see it go away, and even then there will still be political maneuvering.

Umm, okay, so I see on the ABC news that I was wrong about the debates being on. Hillary is displeased about assorted other things on MSNBC, like lots of sexist talk about her. I do recall a liberal blog observing that the guy MSNBC suspended is a minor guy while Chris Matthews who makes odd Clinton comments is a big fist so minor guy was a sacrificial lamb.

Most likely she'll still be doing the MSNBC debates 'cause she needs every chance she can get to tromp Obama in debates, methinks.

Hmm, I'm not sure how good McCain is in debates; I don't much watch those 'cause I tend to think they're something of a crock, but it might be an issue.
