Telephone polls

We''ve had three political telephone polls in the last two days. All they seem to be interested in is "Hillary or Obama?".

It feels odd to have my primary vote actually matter.

Yeah, I noticed that the Rhode Island is actually significant this time. It's ironic or something; the idea behind front stacking the primaries was to get a winner quickly but at least for the Democrats what's happened is people whose votes normally are irrelevant in primary season now matter. Then again, what's really happening might well be that this year we don't have an incumbent or sitting Vice President running so things are more open, combined with anger over the last several years.

I'd hate to be the incoming President though; there is no way they're going to be able to avoid a barrage of criticism when they don't pull off miracles.

What is the purpose of these phones calls? Who is making them? Is it just to tick boxes at their end? If you say whoever you will be voting for, it doesn't mean you will ACTUALLY vote on the day, so what's the point?

Just curious!
