Hillary: McCain is better than Obama

I've been trying not to post Hillary/Obama stuff. But this stunned me. Yesterday, Hillary effectively endorsed McCain over Obama.

"I think that I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House. I know that Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience that he would bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002." Hillary Clinton 03/03/08

She seems to be ready to pull down the entire Democratic Party rather than lose to Obama. My guess is that she's hoping that if she doesn't get the nomination, that McCain beats Obama so she can take another run at it in 2012. Which is kind of what she and Bill did when they kneecapped Al Gore in the 2000 election.

She's gone completely beyond the pale, and seems to have become what the Republicans were calling her all along.

Incidentally, we're voting tonight. Sebastian is going to be picked up from school by Teri's mother, but we're going to wait until she brings him home before we go to the polls. We always take him with us when we're going to vote. He loves seeing the fire hoses and going inside the firehouse! And the poll volunteers just love him.

Odd thought: I wish we had a caucus. I'd enjoy talking about the candidates. Oh well.

I was kind of Hillary neutral at the beginning of February. My attitude was "I like Obama, but McCain has gone so crazy in the head, I think I would actually vote for HIllary just to keep him away from the big chair."

Now, I'm pretty anti-Hillary now. I never thought she was as sleezy and power hungry as people kept insisting to me for years that she was, but I guess I never saw that side of her until now, finally.

Make sure you get to the polls early, they are reporting larger than normal turnout in RI and longer lines. They also, according to the news reports, have closed a number of polling places to save money, so make sure you know where your polling place is this year it may have changed since the last time you voted.

Well, apparently Sen. Obama has enough experience with foreign policy to tell the voters that he doesn't support NAFTA while sending his foreign policy advisor to Canada to assure him that this is just campaign rhetoric and that Sen. Obama *does* support NAFTA.

Methinks Sen. Obama has a "truthiness" problem. But, as someone said, he is the batshitnutz' messiah from Hope-istan so it is not important.

That does seem to be a really dumb thing for her to say; I wonder what the full context (say, was this in a question about her vote on the force authorization) was for this. While as I understand it the amount of nastiness in this campaign really hasn't been more severe this go-round than in previous primary seasons, I don't recall a candidate saying "The other side's candidate is more qualified than my opponent."

That pretty well kills any chance of her being the next President even if she gets the nomination; I can definitely see Obama supporters vowing not to support her if she were to be the Democratic candidate. This is sad, really; I think she actually would be an okay prez. Oh well....
