5k is cheap for a roof job, even a shingle one. We paid $10k to have ours done about 5 years back (we have a flat top 'rubberized' roof) and that was a bargain deal as the contractor did major work for the company Kiralee was working for at the time and basically it was a no-profit job for him (his costs basically), would have been $15 or more for some else to have done it.
