This morning I saw a comment someone made in Scott Rosenberg's blog saying that the Bush administration had the proverbial teflon coating. So of course I had to say:

The "teflon" of the Bush gang is composed of layer upon layer of densely packed corrupt corporate journalists, moronic but distracting "entertainment" media, and the tycoons who own both (to the extent that there is any difference between the two). These exude an insulating layer of bullshit between the truth and the public. Since this layer is often ablated by reality, it is necessary for it to be perpetually renewed.

Fortunately for Bush the supply of bullshit seems endless. Whether or not the public's appetite for BS is also endless is another question, however, and remains to be seen.

The growing economic pain felt by a rapidly growing number of Americans will be harder to soothe, I suspect, than the mere destruction of the US government, Bill of Rights (always excepting the 2nd, of course), and the American tradition of representative democracy and the right to vote. Those are mere abstracts to most Americans, after all. Maybe it will take getting laid off, running through unemployment, and homelessness to get the American people to wake up and smell the bullshit.

It's Wayde from out west. At your 9:48 posting on August 27th you claim Americans would rise up and smite the evil overlords lead by gwbush...

Without our guns what are we going to use...harsh language? (didn't Hudson say that in Aliens?!! and we know what happened there...)

Be thankful that they (gwB) too arrogant and stupid to realize that their foolish support of those "redneck" conservatives who understand its importance the 2d amendment will allow the revolution to occur...if indeed it does.

The second amendment was DESIGNED to allow the PEOPLE to protect themselves from criminals (with a small c) like robber's and rapists and bullies as well as CRIMINALS (with a large C) such as a government that is no longer by the People, for the People.

Be aware that the Second Amendment really frames the others, for without the power to protect and defend--we have nothing. If we count on our government to do the right thing and allow it to disarm us, then we shouldn't be too surprised when we get the shaft once we've been de-fanged. Robber-barons LOVE unarmed peasantry! Easier for them to herd us up and dictate terms.

I too will NEVER again support gwb. Any so idiotic and willfully blind to the damage his "policies" have created needs to be removed from office--preferably by an informed, intelligent electorate (ah ha ha ha ha).

Sorry. Fantasy role playing has affected my view of the american voter. Sadly, as a group, we're dumber than sheep. Don't disturb our petty recreations and slowly take away our freedoms...and we'll never even say Bahhhhh, until it's too late.
