Explain Please!
The internet is supposed to be virtually unstoppable. It's supposed to be able to withstand huge disruptions of the world communication grid.
So why has some small thing somewhere managed to totally kill my ability to view my site and check my email from a specific location?
I don't think the site has been banned by the administrators here; when that happens, you get a "This site violates company policy, your web useage is being monitored" message. I just get standard time-outs ("The page cannot be displayed").
On an unrelated note, it looks like I'll be using Windows XP (Professional, of course) at home from now on. Since I've lost everything anyway, there's no point in sticking with 98SE.
Of course once I have the computer I have about 300 CDs to go through, some of which contain backups of some of the material I lost. So I'll have a long, long search & restore mission to complete. Come to think of it, I'll also need to reinstall all the old games, assuming I can find the CDs - and then I'll probably need to beat each game at least once. :D
