WoW now?

I've installed the WoW trial and am updating it (a long process). Any tips on what class or anything else I should play?

By the way, I plan to download and try Guild Wars after the two-week WoW trial. Might as well give them both a try!

Come to Maelstrom Server.... thats where Kiralee, Franz and I mostly can be found. That way you can find trustworthy folks.

I can also hook you up with a Guild if you stay beyond the trial period....

Make sure to let us know you character names (I presume you'll play Alliance and not evil horde characters)....

I think I might BE on the Maelstrom server...I'll double-check. Can characters be transferred from one server to another?

My current mage is named Omac, which may not be much of a surprise. Future characters will probably have variations on that name, such as OmacMage. I'm going to try to play at least one Horde character before the trial expires, of course.

Generally characters can't be moved from one server to another (its possible but only with a paid account and extra charges if I remember correctly).

Omac is no showing up on Maelstrom or as an alliance character on Maelstrom. I suspect you're on a different server.

I created a fighter on Maelstrom tonight. He's OmacBlade.

I'm going to sleep now, but I'll try to play tomorrow. What time do you usually play?

Tonight will be weird, but I presume I'll be on from 5ish on. I'll put you on my friends list so I'll know when you log on. Tuesdays are system maintenance for Blizzard from about 8 AM to 1 or 2pm.

Kiralee has an after work doctors appointment and won't be home until probably 8.

Anyway, rumor is they may be installing the next patch today.... if that is true (and one can't tell until it happens) there will be another round of downloads before I can get on. The last major patch was in March. It took them a Month to fix all the bugs with it (so it may be unstable, mostly in the higher end of the game).

You should have no problems at the low end, and its possible to take a character from level 1-10 in a single night.

I have a low end character I could team up with you to help you get up through the first dungeon (Dead Mines, I believe, if you're playing a human) on the questing cycle.

You might want to check out wowwiki.com at some point, its a wiki database of information about the game and game world in detail.

By fighter do you mean Warrior, Rogue or Paladin?

Oh I wasn't on last night after 7 as I kept getting bounced offline.... Kiralee and I gave up after 5 logon attempts.
