World of Warcraft trial - Day 4 & 5

For the last two days nobody I know was playing WoW, so I played a mage and made a discovery:

You can cast spells at a distance.

Yes, when I played a mage on the first day I actually hadn't figured out how to cast my fireblast except in hand-to-hand combat. Once I found out how to cast it at range, I went to town. It was so much easier! I created a mage on the Maelstrom server (Omacmage), and leveled him up to 6 tonight. Got all the spells I could for him, too. It was fun! But it's too damned late. Time for bed!

Hehehe. Fun ain't it. When I ran a Pali, it was Smite, Smite, Smite, then watching them fall dead at my feet.

Or sending over my pet or familiar to tank for me. I aughta get on again.

Hey Pete, I was on, and I saw you log on as your warrior around 9-9:30ish and pinged you with a hello, but about 3 minutes after I did you logged off without a word. I guess you didn't watch the message scroll.

I didn't see you! In fact, I haven't seen you online for the last few days.

I've been playing a Horde character as well; would I see messages from you as him?

One thing is that Teri and Sebastian call me a LOT when I'm playing. I'm also getting interrupted by flareups of IBS. I've increased the amount of vegetables I'm eating, and it's pretty much tearing me apart. So I'm AFK a fair amount of the time.

These thing happen.... sorry about the IBS issues.

Only Horde can track/group with horde. They are totally separate from Alliance in all ways. Only interaction is on the battlefield and areas of the map you can run into them on, in which case they cannot actually speak to each other (though the emotion response system still works). Their auction houses do not connect either...

Doesn't help that the 'truce towns' (Booty Bay, Ratchet, etc) are used as places for them to slaughter Alliance in ganks and score their own weird 'honor' from.

Ganking - Attacking someone from surprise (Behind or from stealth) often while they are fighting an NPC monster or animal, and usually by someone more than 5 levels difference then your character.

Swarming - Five or more Horde ganking up on an Alliance Character.

Camping or Deathwatch - Standing over the corpse of a character you Ganked and waiting for them to come back from the dead. In a weakened state this usually means you get to kill them again and again....

Graveyard Haunting - Sitting near a graveyard and waiting for folks to recover and attack them when they do so there. Characters coming out of death from a GY have no Honor value, but the horde do this anway.

So how do I look to see you? I've been opening up the "Social" window when I come on (when I remember to, that is), but it's always empty.

Horde behavior sounds very unappealing. It's not the sort of thing I like to play ever. PvP in general isn't my style, I guess. I've been playing a Tauren shaman. Very naturalistic and native-American-ish, so far. I'm kind of curious about how they end up working with outright evil races, though!

Speaking of PvP, someone started chasing me and challenging my mage to battle over and over and over (about 5-6 times in all) last night. Is there any way to block that sort of thing? It got irritating. He was level 71 and I was level 8, so I don't know what the hell he was trying to prove.

FYI, I've built up an Alliance mage on Maelstrom, named Omacmage. He's level 8 (as I just said), and human.
