WoW update: Light Leather Galore
So last night I turned my first character - a human fighter named Omacblade - into a skinner and leatherworker. Picked up a lot of skins fairly quickly, and mailed them to Lukemac. In return, Lukemac and Omacmage sent Omacblade money, so he could buy training and equipment in order to survive while collecting leather.
Unfortunately Lukemac lacked enough copper to make everything he needed, so I went on a copper & tin harvesting junket. It was a bit dangerous; at one point three elite Horde monsters had me so close to death that I was sure I'd had it, only to suddenly break off. And I wasn't able to find anywhere near as much tin as I'd hoped. But I got enough copper to make the necessary equipment - almost.
Actually I did, but along the way I suddenly realized that the belts I was making were far superior to the belt that I was wearing. So I put one on, and now I need to make yet another belt. I'll have to grab some more ore soon.
I also want to make some other profession specialists, but I'll have to do a little research first.

I sent leather to omacblade (instead of lukemac) the other night.... presume you got it in the mail.

I can see why a guild is useful - that way various high-level crafters can help each other out. Does WSS do that much?

In Goldshire, south of the Inn there's this ridgeline. You'll drop down this ridge when you go to the Fargodeep Mine. Know what I'm talkin' about?
Ok, start along that ridge. And turn right(West) and you'll eventually hit the road into Westfall. You'll see an ore or two.
Then turn around and run back along that same ridge.
Keep going from ridge to ridge, it's a looong ridgeline, until you see this big mound/hill off to your right. It's just by whatshisnames Landing.
There should be a few Defias and bears along the way so be careful.
The Hill near the Landing has about a dozen copper ore spawn points on it, and if you're patient, and sit on the peaktop, they'll show up after mining them. And no one's around.
Then from the hill, go North and you'll see another section of short run ridge and follow that one.
Then turn around, and go back to the hill, then back to the main/large ridge and take that back along the southern edge of Goldshire, back to the road to Westfall.
I run these 2 ridges and the hill, back & forth, and I get a ton of copper every time! And I fight maybe the 1 or 2 Defias that are in the area. Which I know you can handle, or avoid.
Have fun!
Ps: Do you have map coordinates enabled? Or the addon installed?

I was quite shocked at how good a Runed Copper Belt was!
"Ps: Do you have map coordinates enabled? Or the addon installed?"
No. I didn't know they were an option. And I haven't added ANY add-ons yet; I'm a bit apprehensive about them. I only have 2GB of RAM, so it's my understanding that I can probably only run one at a time? I looked up the websites you sent me, and some of the add-ons weren't there any more...it was kind of confusing.

I have 2GB of Pc-2700(DDR333) CL-2.5 and I'm running almost 30 addons. So it shouldn't be an issue, unless you have a slower system. I have an AMD XP3200 cpu 2.2Ghz @ 400mhz bus. And an nVidia GeForce 7600 video card.
I'm sure you can Goog the addons you want. WoW comes with some addons already installed. You need to go to the character selection screen, and there should be a button in the lower left corner labeled "Addons".
"C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns" Is where they're usually stored.
If I remember... the map co-ords should be in your user interface panel???
