A Day At The Farm

Teri, Sebastian and I visited the cows at Wright's Dairy recently. I brought the camera along, and got some good shots.

Cows milked. And who's that reflected in the glass?

Here's what's behind the glass and the sign. I stuck the camera through the door and snapped it one-handed. No one has ever objected to my taking photos at Wright's, but I seem to be a magnet for trouble sometimes. So I try to be discreet.

And here are the heads of the cows - we went around into the barn and took this photo from the other side. The picture quality is a bit poor not just because I have a crappy camera, but because I was reluctant to use the flash - it might have upset the cows. By the way, very few people go into the barn - the entrance isn't obvious. Teri was told she could go there a while ago by one of the women at the bake shop, but most people have no clue that it's even an option. Likewise for the feeding areas in the back, but the cow manure on the ground would probably dissuade most people anyway. (I just watch where I step, if you were wondering.)

There's a photo I can't use here, because Teri doesn't let me use pictures of her - but a calf's leg was tangled in its chain, and I snapped a photo just as Teri freed it. There's more than one reason that I married her.

Beautiful sky, eh?

Here's Blue, the latest in a series of mostly-white calves. Isn't she pretty?

Sebastian and the calves.
I wasn't sure if I should include these, because they're not limited to the back of Sebastian's head. But they were so cute that I couldn't resist. So I compromised by resampling them to a pretty small size.

It was a pretty nice day, all in all.
