Portal

A couple of days ago the closing song "Still Alive" from Portal popped up on my main Pandora station. I liked it so much that I looked into buying the game. Best Buy didn't carry it, according to their website. Game Stop did, and had it available as an instant digital download - for $20, plus a mandatory $3 surcharge for being able to download it again (if it got erased) for 18 months from the date of purchase.

So I went directly to Valve, the company that makes Portal, and downloaded it for $9.99. Game Stop are crooks!

Enjoy - and remember, the cake is a lie!

I will admit that I'm tempted to pick up Portal, partly because of the song (written by Jonathan Coulton, who does lots of amusing songs) and because of what I've read about it on TV Tropes. Mind you, I'm probably not vigorous and patient enough to actually finish it.

It's a two-hour game - that is, it takes roughly two hours to play it through from start to finish. Of course you can pause and save at any time.

It's much more a thinking game than a reflex game, although there were a few points where I did try to use speed in my favor.
