Diablo: Cronan Battles On
It's amazing how much quicker and easier it is to get through Diablo with a barbarian, compared to a sorceress! Cronan is tearing through quests like nobody's business. Last night I went through the Crystalline Passage and found the Frozen River. Now, my sorceress had HUGE problems there; she found Frozenstein the snow monster to be literally unkillable, and one hit from him killed her every time. I ended up simply teleporting around him to complete the Anya quest, and it was a pretty damned scary experience, I can tell you!
But for Cronan, Frozenstein (I love that name, it cracks me up) and his Abominables were, well, pushovers.
Incidentally, I swapped out my Rogue hireling, Elly, for an Act VI Barbarian hireling instead. I've given him some of my older equipment, although for some reason he isn't able to wield some items; for example, an axe that adds 1 to barbarian masteries. It doesn't make sense to me that he isn't able to use a barbarian-specific item that has requirements well under his characteristics, but go figure.
Oh, and I received a decent reward for the freeing the captured barbarians quest: a rare helmet which adds one to all barbarian skills. That, plus I bought a sword which does the same thing and used it to replace one of my Creglaw's Tooths (Teeth?); it does much less damage, but the addition to my resistance, defense, and right-hand damage more than makes up for that. My poison resistance is maxed out, and the others are all 65% or higher once I've cast Battle Command.
