A Highly Unsatisfying Conversation

I posted this over in the Fuitadnet general support forum, but for no sane reason I've decided to post it here as well. The poll doesn't work, of course, but if anyone actually feels like voting, feel free to do so in comments.
Thank you for your inquiry. Please wait for a site operator to respond. You are number 1 out of 1 customer(s) ahead of you.
You are now chatting with 'Manish'

Manish: Hello
Peter Maranci: Hi. I'm checking on the status of ticket #HNT-48024-770. No account on my domain has been able to receive email for the past 24 hours.
Manish: How can i help you ?
Peter Maranci: Has there been any progress on this ticket? I cannot receive email, and I cannot open the support ticket page, so I have no other way of knowing what's going on.
Peter Maranci: I have finally received a bounce message, if that would help.
Manish: i check the ticket
Manish: we are working on that problem
Manish: when we will fix the problem we will update you via ticket
Peter Maranci: But I can't view tickets!
Manish: we are making some updates to ticket system , that's the reason you are facing problem with ticketing system
Peter Maranci: Is there any ETR? For the ticket system OR the email problem?
Manish: not sure
Peter Maranci: That's it then? Just wait?
Manish: sir as senior techs are working on that problem, that's the reason i am unable to tell you ETA
Peter Maranci: Not much I can do about that, then. Goodbye.
Manish: Bye sir

I find a good solid russian or romanian accent always makes dealing with tech support more amusing, if that helps :-)

Sorry... Coffee kicking in... with sleep deprevation it always produces weird results...

Having worked in tech support for a good portion of my career, I can honestly say that if one of my employees was that lackluster I would fire them.

Or at least write them up.

Now were I on the phone, when he mentioned a senior tech, I would have thrown out a snarky comment about his non-senior status, and requested to speak to a senior tech or his supervisor.

Were my e-mail down, I'd be dead in the water. I live by it.

Of course, I administer the network and e-mail server of one of my primary accounts, so if it's down I can only yell at myself over the phone. :-)

Having looked at the other message with "Tushar" and this with "Manish" I'm having to suddenly wonder if customer support is in India. The one thing against that is, well, customer support operatons in India will sometimes give people American names so you'd be dealing with "Alice" or "John" or "Jose."

Lapsing into Armenian at some point might have been entertaining. Or maybe "Swedish Chef." :)
