That's what MY house recently appraised for, and it's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, single-story home with neither the front nor back yard bigger than the house itself.
Well, if that house and land were within 60 miles of Boston, you couldn't buy it for less than three million.
But up in Maine, that price is kind of steep - a bit higher than what the brokers recommended. My parents aren't in a huge hurry to sell the place, you see.
I guess we could have kept it in the family, but between us kids we don't have anywhere near the money or time needed to keep the house from falling apart.
By the way, it has a huge amount of land in the back, too. Basically you can walk for half an hour or more through the fields and forest without seeing another house. And there are some ancient turkey coops that have collapsed back there, too...damn, I'm going to miss that place.
