Arisia Panels
Dec. 26th, 2003 11:11 pmI've received the list of panels I'll be on at Arisia this year, so before I lose the list I'm posting it here.
It's a record number of panels for me, or darn close to it; for the past five years or so I've generally been given only four or five at most. There may have been one con where I did ten, but I'm not sure. At eight this year, though, I'll be pretty busy. Teri may not be 100% thrilled about this.
Friday:
Saturday:
Sunday:
Looking forward to it! It'll be at the Boston Park Plaza on January 16-18 (Martin Luther King weekend). If any of you will be there, stop by and say "hi!".

Friday:
- 9 PM - Designing Great Player Characters (this is one of the ones I suggested, as I recall.)
- 10 PM - Lord of the Cinemas (my chance to attack the annoying Jackson "LOTR" movies.)
Saturday:
- 10 AM - Who's Reading Your Blog? (apparently I didn't make the LiveJournal panel. But I'm moderating this one. Oh well.)
- 11 AM - The Plight of the Older Gamers (moderating this one too. It's another of my suggestions, although I may not have been the only one to suggest it.)
- 2 PM - The Golden Days of Classic Arcade (another of my suggestions, and once again I'm moderating. Though I doubt I'll be the most qualified person on it.)
- 5 PM - I Gave You Stormbringer? (another of my suggestions, right down to the title. Somebody at Arisia must like my ideas)
Sunday:
- 10 AM - When Free Speech Rights Collide (I'm nervous about this one. It was definitely not my suggestion. Probably everyone else on the panel will be a constitutional rights lawyer.)
- 12 noon - Introductory Fan Web Design (ah, back on familiar ground. My suggestion, and I'll be moderating. If I had a choice, it would be a seminar rather than a panel, because I'm suspecting that one or more of the panelists will be a professional, commercial fan website designer and they'll be offended by the idea that I'll be supporting - that of doing a website for love of the subject, not for profit. If you are ever going to see me use my moderator powers firmly, that would be the time.)
