Sebastian's teeth
Jul. 17th, 2008 10:30 pmMy heart was kind of breaking during the last few days, because Sebastian was going to the dentist on Thursday to have two cavities filled. The poor little guy didn't know it, and he didn't know enough to be scared. Thinking of how he might feel in the dentist's chair when they stuck a needle into his mouth made me want to cry.
But it actually went very smoothly; Teri called me at work and told me about it.
To my amazement, they gave him gas! I knew that children could be given nitrous oxide, but for some reason I assumed they wouldn't give gas to Sebastian. I was wrong.
Teri said he didn't seem to like it, and he didn't give me much of a clear answer about how it felt. Apparently he was very fidgety during the procedure. It only took about five minutes, though; they didn't bother with a couple of small cavities on teeth that turned out to be already loose, and the one cavity on a baby molar was so small that it hardly took any time at all to fill. Sebastian wasn't even aware that any drilling went on!
But it actually went very smoothly; Teri called me at work and told me about it.
