Diablo

I've been playing a fair amount of Diablo lately. At first I was back into Diablo 2, LOD. Most of my Battle.net characters had expired, so I worked up a bunch of new ones. Along the way I discovered something annoying: Battle.net had changed. I could no longer take a high-level character and drop a bunch of gold in a game for a starting character.

They seem to have put in restrictions that make it impossible for characters to enter a game that has been created or visited by a character that's more than four or five levels higher or lower. So if you want to exchange stuff between your characters, you have to make sure that they stay within four levels of each other.

I played so much that I got what I call "Diablo finger". But I also got bored. So just for the hell of it, one day, I popped in my old Diablo 1 disk. It still worked...and I have to say that it's a better game than D2. It doesn't have as many features, but it's sharper, clearer, and more exciting.

That level restriction is a setting for when you start your own game. It keeps the lower level fellows out when you want to go into the later acts.

Usually if you want to pool items/gold together its best to play with at least one other person you trust.

I own both, if you're still interested in playing some. I only have fun when I play with someone else anyways.

Thanks, that sounds like fun. You mean you actually own Diablo 1? I thought I was one of the last people in the world playing that!

My handle on Battle.net is "omac". I forget which gate (or whatever it's called) I use for D2LOD. I'm often on in the evenings, between 8:30 - 10 PM eastern time, during weekdays. Weekends are more random.

Loaded up D1. Not much of a fan of D2, plus I don't have the expansion.

To keep a tab on me:
/f add Spectross (will add me to your friends list on b.net for whichever account you use)
/f list (will list all those you've /f add'd, and whether or not they're online)

I've checked the past two days for omac on D1 during the general time you've said.

I haven't been on much lately, because of a general and inexplicable feeling of nervousness. But I'll add you and will look for you when I'm on Battle.net. BTW, I have an idea for a story based on Diablo 1; you may find it interesting, if I ever bring myself to actually writing it down.
