Last night I was on my own again. So I went back to the Murloc village with my mage.

I was extremely cautious, standing well back and sniping one at a time. I wiped out all the dangerous animals nearby first, so as to avoid getting caught fighting two enemies at once. The problem is that enemies re-spawn after a while; I can work my way deep into an area, but if I have to run for my life I'll end up running through legions of respawned enemies. It works better to be near a "safe" zone such as a village. Enemies may follow me into it, perhaps, but I've noticed that some or all of them will run away once I'm well in.

On the other hand, I'm concerned that I may piss people off by bringing enemies into town. I'd hate to accidentally be responsible for any PC deaths.

Oh, something I should mention: if I'm online and you try to contact me and I don't respond, I am NOT ignoring you. I either didn't see your whisper (I'm often focused on whatever battle is going on at the moment), or was AFK (it happens fairly often). So please keep trying! The game is much more fun when I'm playing with others, and I'm not yet comfortable joining up with strangers.

Hmm...I seem to recall that my old Diablo guild (now defunct) was going to re-form in WoW. I wonder if they did?

A Christian on Askville asked why atheists always answer their questions about Christianity.

It's quite natural for atheists to respond to questions about Christianity, and not just yours. If you think Christianity doesn't have an impact on the lives of atheists in the United States, you obviously haven't had the experience of being an atheist in the USA. We're widely despised and distrusted by Christians; polls indicate that we are the most hated group in America, even more loathed than Muslims and homosexuals. So it should be understandable why many of us want to represent our position online.

[Another user] also makes a good point: to be an atheist in the USA is not a casual thing. Most US atheists have probably spent a lot more time thinking about religion than most US Christians!

I just realized that I'd still have to buy the game, not just an account card. Hmm, the price of WoW just went way up. Plus there's the cost of the supplements...
